Maksimir Minus Zwei Cener race

Maksimir Minus Zwei Cener race was held in Maksimir park in Zagreb on 6 April 2019 marking World Health Day. The race was organized by Maksimir Athletic Club in coordination with Zagreb Downtown Community Health Center, Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute of Public Health, and University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica. BioGnost participated at the event as one of sponsors (Kraš, Frank Hidra, Studena, Dinamo), and BioGnost’s employees Sanja Ankon, Damir Bježančević, Darija Štimac, and Dora Tomašković were present. Having in mind that this year’s topic is ‘Health for everyone – Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere’, the organizers prepared activities pertaining to health care, so the competitors had the opportunity to measure blood sugar level, have EKG done, measure blood pressure, check eyesight, and body mass index free of charge, as well as consult with experts about proper nutrition and physical activities.

At BioGnost’s stand we offered checking EKG using WIWE device, and we also shared VivaCheck gift bags, tests for detecting drugs, GraviGnost Ultra pregnancy tests, and VivaCheck glucose meters. Health visitors from the Community Health Center were measuring blood sugar levels using VivaChek glucose meter, and were especially thrilled with WIWE EKG device; we exchanged contacts with them in order to arrange future cooperation and organize a presentation. One of the persons interested for the EKG measuring device was Dr. Zvonimir Šostar, Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute of Public Health director.

The event had a big turnout, and all the generations joined the race. Besides promoting recreational running, enjoying nature and healthy lifestyle, the main goal of the race was to raise awareness about the importance of taking care about health. The media announced and covered the entire event; more about it can be found on various online news portals.
