Introduction
In vitro diagnostic product derived from animal blood are widely used in laboratory diagnostic procedures. They are most often used as nutritional supplements to culture media, and are especially important for stimulating the growth of certain bacterial species.
Technical Data
The product is used as a supplement to culture media and is suitable for use with dehydrated media for cultivation Mycoplasma spp., Brucella spp. and Trichomonas vaginalis. BioSap BS is not a heat-inactivated preparation (depending on the manufacturer's recommendation of the specific dehydrated nutrient medium, the preparation should be heat-inactivated before adding to the medium).
The product is used as a supplement to culture media. For detailed instructions, refer to the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer of the specific dehydrated medium.
Sample preparation:
Before use, the vial should be thawed in a water bath at a temperature of up to 37°C with periodic gentle stirring until liquid serum appears. Before use, shake gently and sterilely transfer the appropriate volume of the supplement into a medium cooled to 45-50°C (according to the media manufacturer's instructions).
Storage, stability and shelf life:
Store BioSap BS supplement at a temperature of -10 °C to -30°C, in a tightly closed original packaging. If stored at a temperature of 2 °C to 8°C, it should be used within one month. When stored at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C, turbidity may occur, as a result of the accumulation of proteins and lipids that are normally present in serum in varying amounts. Opacity does not affect the microbiological quality of the serum. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight. The product should not be used after the expiration date printed on the label.
